The Coetzenburg Stadium is known for hosting athletics and soccer events. The Danie Craven Stadium is famous for rugby matches such as the FNB Varsity Cup and in the 1995 Rugby World Cup it hosted the game between Australia and Romania.

Indian runner ducks are an unusual breed. They stand upright like penguins and instead of waddling, they run. On the farm there is a huge flock, which ranges from around 700 to around 900, depending on the time of year. Visit Vergenoegd Wine Estate just outside Stellenbosch to see the daily duck parade.
